The Renishaw probing system is an essential tool in our CNC machining process, ensuring precise and automated setup for each component we manufacture or modify. In this project, the system was used to automatically set XYZ datums on a blow moulding tool part, allowing us to modify it precisely to our customer’s specifications.

Project Spotlight: Blow Moulding Tool Modification

For this particular project, a customer required modifications to an existing blow moulding tool. Given the intricate design and tight tolerances required, manual setup was not an option. Using the Renishaw probing system, we:
🔹 Accurately mapped the existing part dimensions before machining
🔹 Set precise XYZ datums, ensuring modifications were made exactly as needed
🔹 Executed modifications with high precision, delivering a refined and optimised tool

The result? A seamlessly modified blow moulding tool that meets our customer’s specifications with perfect accuracy.
