We had the absolute pleasure of contributing to The City of London Big Egg Hunt — a spectacular event that merges public art, interactive fun, and charitable giving. The initiative featured over 200 giant egg sculptures, each uniquely designed by artists from across the globe and strategically placed throughout London's most iconic landmarks. The goal? To raise vital funds for charity while inspiring creativity and community engagement.
When a client from London approached us with the opportunity to be part of this egg-straordinary project, we knew we had to crack on and bring our best to the table.
MJS was entrusted with a critical part of the process — designing and manufacturing the precision-engineered mould that would shape each of the monumental eggs. These weren’t your standard Easter treats; the sculptures required a high degree of accuracy, consistency, and structural integrity.
Utilising our advanced CNC machining capabilities, our team transformed raw material into a bespoke mould capable of handling the artistic and logistical demands of the project. Every curve, contour, and surface was crafted with expert precision to ensure the artists had the perfect canvas to bring their visions to life.
We’ve documented the process every step of the way, from the initial concept through to the final product. You can explore our behind-the-scenes journey in the photo gallery in this post!
There’s something incredibly rewarding about seeing the results of your work go from workshop to world stage. Knowing that our craftsmanship played a part in an event that delighted the public and supported charitable causes has been a proud moment for everyone here at MJS.
